Thanks! I fell in love with it when I first saw it up for sale... despite the duct-taped A/C lines.

I've replaced nearly everything operative on the car at least once.

Still need to rebuild the rear door window tracks, since the guy I last paid to replace the window motors shattered them and hot-glued them back together. Bastard...

I'm enjoying it, though. I need to replace the braces in the front corners of the engine compartment and I'm trying to find ways to add more structural support, for cornering. Any ideas?

Why a shame? I like it down here.

I want this thing to be very well-balanced for performance, handling, and comfort. I may add a loud stereo, but I'm not really into them and I'd need to find a way to do it on my factory AM/FM radio, since I really like it. The only reason my Jeep has a CD player is because it didn't have anything and I had the MP3 Blaupunkt in the garage from when I ripped it out of the 300ZX I was building.

Yep- sold a 300ZX, selling a 4x4 Jeep, and passed a mint Mustang to continue with my wagon. I should start a cult...

man 16's are not fast for 1/4 mile times... buick roadmasters can do 14's with just a little tweaking of the LT1. Has anyone ever heard of a 13 or 14 second Townie??

Have any of you removed the smog pump from a daily driver? How's it run? I tried it a while back and had major problems. Can any of you recommend anything? I'd rather not have to deal with hooking it up on this new motor...

I'm already about to order new cats once it's running, so I'm not worried about the tubes running to them. Do I need to plug the EGR openings in the heads or do I leave all the tubing alone?

Advice? I've always been told to just leave it because it'll throw off the motor, but I don't want to have it on there if I can avoid it. Help!

if you just remove your EGR and do nothing else your engine will run lean. the computer expects the exhaust gas to be recirculated, the exhaust gas contains unburnt fuel. When the computer is expecting fuel to go in the cylinders that is not actually there it will go lean. My friend was having the same problem in his mustang, his A/F was way off causing detonation at 10 deg of base timing and on 93 octane, went and had the EGR turned off in the computer and detonation went away.

my car was my daily driver. The only emissions sytem left was the EGR.
No issues at all when I removed the smoeg pump. That car fast passed MD emissions, got 22-24mpg, and ran 14's. As for the Exploder and smog pump, the heads don't have the passages for the crossover tubes...your motor prolly doesn't have egr passages either...

Last time USLYDAWG and I were at the track, there was a guy running a Roadmaster. The announcers made a big deal out of it. Then it ran mid-16s. It'd take a LOT of tweaking to get 14s out of that!

Meanwhile, my car ran 16 flat.

There was a roadmaster running one of the nights I was racing the 87. It did pretty well. Don't remember what it ran though. He was impressed with my car though. There was a caprice with a 350HP GM crate motor that was running mid/high 16's. I pissed him off pretty well. Figuring I was doing better times than that with my 150hp motor....
