1984 Grand Marquis - bringing an old car back to life.

I am new to this car and group..
This car sat for over a year.
It has 62,000 miles and a spotless blue interior.

It had no fuel on first start. To get it running I have done the following.

    New fuel pump
    Cleaned injectors
    Fuel filter
    New plugs
    New distributor
    New rotor cap

It starts and runs OK.. But Sometimes it stumbles HARD on acceleration..
    What do I check now?

    Should I replace the coil?

I can not find a complete wiring diagram for this vehicle.
    Can anyone share one?

    Welcome to the site!

You could check the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). When those get out of whack, it can cause some of the symptoms you've described. You can test them with a multimeter.
Another thing you can do is pull codes. Since yours is an '84 it has OBD-I. You can buy a scanner at a parts store for $30 or jumper the connector with a paper clip and count the number of times the check engine light flashes. That will also give you codes.
In this post I am going to tell you how to check your check engine light on your 1995 or older ford vehicle. Again like checking the light on a Chevy you do not need any special tools. Also like th…

      Welcome!

Agreed. Codes are always a good place to start if you can.

Although, I don't think his 84 will have the check engine light to check for the blinks. Just the red "Engine" light. Might have to just use a code scanner to get them unless someone else knows a way. (I think there's a way using an analog multimeter and reading the needle sweeps?)
