    Squeaking From Engine?

My car's engine has begun doing a mouse impersonation.

I suspect either serpentine belt failing or one of the pulleys.

Anyone else think it could be something different?

Car's going to a mechanic in about 3 hours.

Not the same assholes that screwed it up the last time, I hope. Usually a belt but pulleys are possible. Remove belt/s and spin pulleys to try and narrow it down.

        Good to hear!

My initial thought would be belt too.

I'd suspect a belt or pulley. You would need to check the belt for wear/excessive cracking/glazing on the smooth side.

Would also need to pull the belt off and check all pulleys for play/noise/smoothness while spinning.

              Oh. Aha. Eheh. Wow.

Know that pickup coil the retards at Canadian Tire put in? It was installed wrong and the reluctor ring from the distributor is hitting it.

              Observe.

bastards. You should have your mechanic bill CT for having to fix their BS.

That's the plan, in fact. Well, more precisely, I pay the mechanic, and then forward CT the invoices.

I'm supposed to retain all the parts but apparently you have to trade in the core when it comes to distributors.
