    Belt Squeal/First Post

Hey yall so this is my first post because I bought a 1991 Grand Marq about a month or two ago! It has a few problems but im trying to figure out exactly what is going on and what to replace. When the car starts it has a rather loud annoying squeal, diffuses just a bit when put into gear, but comes back loud when pressed on the gas. Usually goes away under 60 seconds. Also squeals while getting up to high speeds when pressed on the gas hard, then goes away. Thinking its one of the pulleys. Any ideas?

Probably a loose belt. The alternator is used to tighten one and I believe the air pump is used to tighten the other.

check the loose belt, but it could also be the bearings in the alternator. If it still has the 2G of death (the fan is external, mounted with the pulley and the clip on connector of the charge wires likes to catch fire) you might consider a 3G swap.
