coughing/puffing from exhaust (Fuel injector cleaning)

I have ben hearing coughing puffing from the exhaust, I changed the plugs, wires cap and rotor.

I guess the injectors are dirty

I used to know I guy that cleaned injectors with a machine (don't know what its called). All I do know is that after it was claned, the cars ran beautifully.

He has long since retired and now am wondering where else I can go to clean out my injectors

Under what engine operating conditions is this occurring i.e. idling, accelerating, cruise, decelerating, or under a light or heavy load.

no chance you have an exhaust leak, or old ignition parts? The injectors aren't normally my first suspect for odd running behavior. Usually its a crapped up distributor cap or plugged fuel filter or something like that.

When I was polishing the back bumper while the car was idling, i heard the coughing coming from the tailpipes (I think the drivers side one)

I changed the fuel filter less than a year ago.

I just had new exhaust put on (althoguh i hear a puff puff noise coming from one of the mufflers because there is a small pinhold on the ottom of the muffler. I went to the shop where i had it done and he said the hole is there as drainage for moisture in the exhaust)

I had changed the Dizzy cap and rotor and plugs under a year ago too.

On a side note, i still hear pinging when the car is under a load (soon after car changes to 3rd or overdrive. It's not as bad as it used to be, but still noticeable. Is it still the EGR? Bad Coil? Tming chain loose?
