    '88 Grand Marquis won't start

My '88 Grand Marquis has been sitting at the house unused for 6 months. The battery went bad so it has been replaced. The engine is cranking strong but won't start. It has a tune up back in January and was running fine the last time it was used. What would my next course of action be in order to get it up and running again?

check for fuel pressure and spark at ALL plugs. might also check power relays on the inner fender and power to TFI/ECM.

Check to make sure the inertia switch fuel pump shut off hasn't been whacked and popped up. Push the stem inside the schrader valve on the fuel rail to verify fuel is there. (Watch your eyes!)

Make sure you can hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key on.

Hit it with a little ether. If it fires, you've got a fuel problem. If it doesn't, you've got a spark problem.

Does it catch and sputter at all, or does it just crank and crank and crank?

Ok. Thank you. It doesn't catch. It just cranks and cranks and cranks.

Just remember, if you are getting fuel, your plugs are probably soaked by now and you'll probably need to pull and dry them before you continue.
