If you're not sure of fitment, go OEM!!!

I like the summit racing brand cap/rotor set. it comes with BOTH possible rotors and is nice brass terminal stuff. It's also made in USA and rather inexpensive.

Correct! I am sure other brands (the better ones) would also work out well but I prefer OEM. Especially with ignition, sensor and other picky parts.

I liked the autozone duralast gold cap and rotor kit, used to be the same as the accel, but cheaper. For plug wires, Ford motorsport.

Motorcraft caps are not special. They use aluminum contacts, which burn away more rapidly than the brass does.

If you're talking about this post, that was me, and I bought the kit as a closeout from Rock Auto. I tend to think someone robbed what they needed from the kit I got, but who knows.

For their part, Rock Auto shipped an entire new kit at no cost and didn't have me return the old one, either. I was (and am) more than satisfied as a result. The new kit had what I needed.

There are at least four different possible rotors used on these cars too, so one size does not fit all. There are two in the SEFI world. One fits about 90% of the cars, and the other, which is this funky thing with 2 screws that looks more like a GM rotor, fits the rest. A few of those Chevy looking rotors show up on CFI cars too. You also had the Duraspark stuff on carb models, and the really whacked out cap and rotor used on the EEC III CFI with that weird plus sign looking thing on the bottom of the cap and the rotor with the two side contacts.
