Hey guys been having idle issues and poor fuel economy. Took off my iac today and some oil was coming out as soon as I loosened the screws. Is this normal? What could cause it if not. Thanks

What year and type of vehicle? Could be backed up PCV and/or screen if so equipted??

PCV good? If so maybe someone here will kick in with another possible theory.

Unless someone has a better idea I'd clean the IAC (or replace if old), the channels it bolts to and replace the PCV. Make certain any and all PCV hoses are new or really clean. See where you are at then.

same reason it gets in the throttlebody. lack of baffle under pcv of the lower intake, mixed with small amount of blowby.

Change the filter under the PCV. Cleaning it doesn't usually work out so well. Replace the rubber grommet too, and put a bit of sealer on it to make sure its sealed in the intake well. If none of that helps, it could indicate that the motor is tired and has blowby. There is no fix for this short of rebuilding it, so if it runs well, ignore the problem or add in an oil seperator to collect the oil and keep it out of the throttle body.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Right on mb I already have a new pcv in the garage I'll get a new filter. This site is a wealth of knowledge for someone just trying to keep their old car going. Much appriciation!1989 crown Vic daily driver 165k and counting!
