    Drowning in Gas

I'm drowning in fuel and fouling plugs. Engine has new fuel pump and regulator. New plugs, wires, rotor, cap, ign pick up,fuel temp sensor, coil, and throttle position sensor. What else besides the oxygen sensor might be telling the ecm to dump so much juice? Not getting any codes. Check engine light is not staying on.

fuel pressure regulator may also be shot. even the new one. Check pressure at the Schrader valve on the fuel rail. Should be between 32 an 39 PSI for almost all panthers IIRC. Which car do you have again just to make sure?

make sure the vacuum line is connected to the MAP sensor. Make sure the MAP is good. When they fail, they act like the vacuum line is unhooked, and often run better if you do actually unhook it. MAP is a black plastic thing about the size of a deck of cards, slightly to the passenger side of center on the firewall. Its got one plug and one vacuum line to it. The vac line must be in good condition and pulling solid vacuum or it will run like this.

Replaced the vacuum line on MAP while I was replacing the other vacuum and coolant lines on the manifold. Guess I better check the MAP itself.

try it with the vacuum line off the MAP. If it runs better, replace the MAP.
