Did you set the firing order going counterclockwise or clockwise? Must go counterclockwise rotation. 15426378. Make sure #1 on the cap is #1's plug wire as well.

Does it sputter? Does it just crank as if no fuel or spark? Does the fuel pump run for a few seconds when the key is turned to run?

You are using the TDC mark on the balancer, not that big groove right ? The big groove is a Chevy thing. Doesn't work on a Ford.

Gadget: Yes used TDCwhite mark on balancer... WE thought is was off a tooth so we checked serveral times. With the timing light on it everytime #1 comes around it lights up..(WTH) That should be TDC???? It acks like it wants to start sometimes but just wont hit. IT's getting fuel can smell it through the intake. As far as vacum all are good but if we can get the dang
thing started I'll find out if it studders.. We put her into service mode flashed 6 times than 7,(6-7) which comes up to be the NDS & A/C switch whatever the heck that has to do with starting a car it will keep ya cold LOL.Like I said she has popped of a couple of time just not enough to run; Its driving us CRAZY. . Us meaning me & my buddy who is a mech... Thanks for all the help we will keep trying

TDC comes up twice for every time that rotor comes around. You can easily be 180 off and still have it light up. Be absolutely sure you are on the compression stroke. Pull the plug and stick your finger in the hole to verify.

i remember 1 time i pulled my dizzy out and when i put it back in i left the spout connector on and it wouldnt run till i unhooked the connector and advanced the dizzy a bit and it was fine. Also on theres 5.0 there is a mark that is casted into the dizzy and the engine block. If you line those two lines up it gets you around 10 degrees btdc with the spout unhooked engine running with timing light. But then again you say your not getting any weird codes. I agree with gadget sounds 180 out to me. good luck

Forgive my ignorance but where is the spout? Is it the wire that has a jumper on it that is off of the ing. mod?

Ok got her started.. put new plugs, rotor & cap & she fired up... FINALLY WHAT A TRIP....I guess the plugs got all gummed up from the rear intake leak??? Now after it runs a little or when I drove it down the street & accelerated it blows the PCV out of it socket & oil w/ it.. Why is it building up so much pressure or what is causing that? Thanks for all the help so far...

reach around from the passenger side.. even fat fingers can get at that without taking the upper intake off.
