I replaced the throttle body / egr plate gasket and sealed the middle section with Permatex black silicone. I then let it dry for 48 hours. Put fresh oil in, and changed the filter, too.

Started the car up today. At first, there was still much smoke coming out of the exhaust, and had the smell of coolant. It was probably left over in the mufflers/manifolds from last time. However, the dip stick was clean (checked it every couple minutes). Coolant wasn't being lost. After a while, the exhaust began returning to normal. I let it run for about 10 minutes until the coolant was warm.

I think I'm good. I'm going to start and let it run for 10-15 minutes each day. I'll change the oil and filter (again) tomorrow.

all it does is warms the throttle body and prevents the butterfly/throttle blade from icing in extreme cold temps.
