    Fuel Tank Sending Unit?

I was looking for this on Rock Auto and was unable to find one. I googled it and came up with the '90-'91 Spectra unit. Is this the same unit used on the older boxes? Also, is the sending unit separate from the fuel pump or is it all in one package?

no its not the same. 90-91 have an all-in-one setup. Prior to that its a seperate hanger for pump and sender. Pump to the back, sender to the front.

Hey Jacob. I just recently purchased a sender from Green Sales. 125 plus ship.

So what was the gauge indicating? I am guess not empty based on the circumstances...lol

Check out my RR thread to see the new and old just to give you an idea.

I got lucky and my float was "sunk" with fuel. Easy fix for me in the future to use the sending unit again.

The gauge has been indicating empty for a while. Almost two years. It just stopped working one day. On a warm-ish day I'll get under there with the voltometer and see what's up.

Oh! So your float "may" just be sunk.

Probably sunk. I had a similar problem with my Malibu. It was in the process of sinking I think. The tank would be empty at 1/4 tank. That made diagnosing the vapor lock problem challenging at first.

Does anybody know the part# for the sending unit? I looked in my Helm service manual and I couldn't find where they have the sending unit. You would think I'd find it in the fuel injection or fuel tank sections, but no mention of it.

Okay, I'm resurrecting the dead. Has anybody used an aftermarket fuel sender with guage? The Green Sales option seems to be done.
