The 1988 Grand Marquis has a check engine light wired into the computer. It will flash trouble codes when put into self test mode.
The 1989 Crown Vic has a check engine light wired into the computer.
Anything older than those two years doesn't have a check engine light hooked up to computer.

Interesting. We have claims of 88 Grand Marquis having them, and not having them. Mid year bs perhaps?
