    Miss/spudder when warm?

So i finally got the trans in my car and it works great! Tonight when i was road testing it, it really started to miss and spudder as the car got warmer. I did take the plugs out to do the trans, so it could be them. I dunno, the warmer it got the worse it got.

    plugs/wires?

    thoughts?

Reminds me of my usual power loss after running in traffic for a long time with a warm-air intake, but that doesn't usually lead to any extra missing ....

What's the condition of your other ignition components? (And what ignition system are you running? I tend to assume you're Duraspark-based unless told otherwise!) That comes to mind because my DSII-based car was showing a reluctance to restart whilst out somewhere (twice), while it only did it once at home. I spent $25 on a new magnetic pickup, but have yet to thoroughly test it because lately I've been driving the HEI car when my wife's not home.

Guess I babbled too much at once. What ignition system do you have?

Nothing wrong with the stock ignition system. Do what Thain said and go from there. If the stuff hasn't been serviced in a while, definitely...

"Stock" is very useful information - because, you know, every vehicle in the history of mankind came stock with exactly the same ignition system.

Seriously, I still have no idea if this car uses DSII, TFI, or that bastardized EEC-III arrangement.

1988 TownCar only has one ignition system, TFI.
