    VV airfilter base

I should have asked about this years ago...better late then never.

For the VV carb, I'm using an aftermarket air filter, yet none of the bases that give it clearance height fit the diameter of the carb, so i made one out of a coffee can and homemade gasket (redneck ftw...) Does anyone know what size i need to get or where i could get one that will fit. I'd be game even to get another air filter housing if it looked good

What size is the VV air cleaner neck? I hadn't known it wasn't 5.125".

The neck is slightly larger than 5.125.

When I had VV's, I use to take a standard stamped air cleaner base, and fold the small lip at the carb flange (on the base). Folding it over on itself (if you take your time it looks good), seemed to provide the perfect clearance.
