Just got back from the junkyard, and I found a 1990 Town Car with the tubular-style exhaust.
Since I had never seen them in person, or in any picture, here y'go!
Now, having seen one, while they are tubular (made from tubing), they certainly are NOT "headers". They utilize a common "log" design, as opposed to four individual tubes which mate to a collector.
The design doesn't in any way scream "performance" over the standard cast-iron design.
Does anybody actually have a set of these bolted up - and if so, what performance change did you experience? Based on their design, I wouldn't experience a benefit that is comparable to a Stock Mustang manifold. But, I realize that looks can be deceiving . . . !
So - does anybody have any experience with both - this style, and a "true" Mustang stock header?
