No, have to go get some gaskets and sealer before I do that. Will go down here in a bit and get some.

Well, Thain wins the golden cookie on this one. I was out getting ready to pull the V/C off, when I noticed on a vacuum fitting behind the carb that the rubber plug I put over an unused nipple had rotted and the top of the cap was gone. Fitting is right under the rear of the carb, and very close to the #7 intake runner. Plugged it with my finger and the car ran smooth again. At least I didn't get the V/C off and started to screw with the valve train or anything.

Can see the fitting there on the back. I found a bigger cap and shot some sealant into it and slipped it over the top of the old cap. Problem solved.

Still has a random miss sometimes. Vacuum is back to normal. It'll miss every once in a while on the highway, then it will do a cluster of misses every once in a while.

After fixing yet another vacuum leak in the vacuum tree on the firewall, the problem is back. Now it only seems to do it when the engine is hot. Coil maybe? If I had to change it, it would be the third one since I went from CFI to carb.

Me thinks you still have a vacuum leak.

Have any friends that smoke? If so, hand them a vacuum line and tell them to blow! lol

Oh, and the payment for their services should be a pack of smokes or two. I know they cost a lot, but it's cheaper than a mechanical smoke machine!
