maf conversion: AOD versus manual tranny?

Found a couple guys selling MAF conversion kits.
    But they're only for manuals...

Any compatibility issues with my automatic if I go ahead and do the swap?

Or maybe, find a THIRD party (on craigslist also, if I can find his #) who had the AOD mustang wiring harness. Just to save rewiring for the ecm... unless it's not so bad as I'm imagining.

How long did the swap take you?

theres something with the neutral safety switch. auto is +12v in neutral and open in gear, and the manual is grounded in neutral and open otherwise, some crap like that. I forget exactly but its documented and if you don't modify the wiring it will smoke the ECM. The amount of timing advance is also different. Auto has more initial advance so it feels peppier.

Use Automatic please, otherwise you'll fry the computer with the difference in wiring harnesses.
Go to a junkyard, harvest MAF plug out of an Aero Crown Vic. Pick apart an EEC-IV computer harness for some extra pins with a decent amount of wire so you can extend it. Move two wires and add the two pins for the MAF sensor to your existing EFI harness, tap into power from EEC relay. Give it a good ground. Add a wire to the switched side of the fuel pump relay and put it to the designated pin as noted at fordfuelinjection.com Buy an A9P computer. That's an 89+ Mustang with automatic trans.

Have you even sorted out your car yet? Last I heard you were still trying to fix it's issues.

My swap took me about 2 hours.
