Ive got my 81 LTD running pretty good now, but the EGR is not hooked up at all. I have diagrams, but trying to figure out what is what is really not working out for me. I know that a vacuum line is supposed to be running from the EGR to some vacuum switch on the intake, I believe. Not sure which one, cause there is 3 of them, and not one of them has vacuum lines hooked up to it. Could someone please give me a basic run-down on how to hook mine up?

honestly, if its running well without it, I'd leave it that way. If its been disabled for a lot of years, the passages are probably packed up with carbon, and it will either not really work, or a chunk of carbon may stick in the valve and make the car run bad.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

on a carb model, not really. The EFI cars will lean out the fuel mix when the egr valve opens. A carb can't do that.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

on a traditional carbed application it'll probably reduce part throttle detonation and make a pretty significant emissions difference, but that's about it.
