I know someone said that a 1" won't clear, but my 1" clears just fine fine with Explorer intakes.

I have a 1" spacer (and the guy sent me some kind of thinner spacer with the EGR port blocked off....anyone want that?) and I have it on good authority that it won't fit, but I've never tried.

1" sometimes fit, sometimes not on a Vic. If you have bad motor mounts, its more likely to fit. If the mounts are good and the motor sits where it ought to, then it likely will not fit. 1/2" is fine. If you really want 1", buy a Lincoln. They have more hood clearance.
