    I have done design work on light wt cranks usually like the rod journal is hollow in the center. aftermarket these can be real pricy

      Yes, my '81 came to me with what I believe to have been the original 255, along with an AOD and 3.08 open 8.5 axle. Still have the engine stored away, will give it to any of you who care to come get it for your personal museum collection!

      I remember hearing on SBFTech of using a 255 crank on high RPM builds because of its light weight, with care taken due to its relatively low strength. I don't know whether the 255 block can be bored to a normal size.

      Mine came with an odd intake where the carb studs go into little pillars, a
      vaguely Autolite-like Holley carb with a Ford sticker on it (IIRC), and a sort of standalone computerized emissions system on top of a normal Duraspark III ignition. Some pics (though not very good ones) should still be in my old RR thread.
