    HO Cam + 1.7RR ?

Is it possible to run 1.7 roller rockers on a stock short block with an HO cam? I found a set on eBay for a decent price but I'm not sure if the flat top pistons in the low-out put short block will pose a problem with piston to valve clearance. Can anyone check this for me since my car is sitting at home three hours away?

So do all HO engines have reliefs in the pistons?

Oh and another question, if you don't mind me hitch hiking yout tread here. I should be able to put on a set of roller rockers and not have to change anything else, right?

yes you can put just the roller rockers on with no other alterations. As for the 1.72 with HO cam on a lopo, I know some people on here have that combination, scott does I think. I want to know also b/c I am doing an HO conversion for my 89 Towncar

Actually, scott runs an HO shortblock...

You shouldnt have a problem, You will still be under .500 lift, IIRC...

What about the Low-PO block like Nitro is running? Will they work for him? And will we need to upgrade the springs?

              It shouldnt be a problem.

Updating the springs is never a bad idea...

Thats what I was looking for. Awesome!

What kind of gains should I look for with the better rockers? And do I need to change anything else in the valve train to run them? I think this is the part: Crane Energizer Rocker Arms PN 44746-16

according to Stu it will only give you about 2 HP but most others agree on about 10-15 due to the increase in valve lift and a reduction in friction.

Of I were to go with 1.7ratio rollers and I upgraded my springs, would that cause my hydrolic lifter to be overcome? IE, would I need to change them as well?
