exhaust bolts + hangers? stainless bolts?

    Hi!

Forget to measure tonight, need to stop by the store tomorrow: what size bolts do I need to hold the ends of the headers to the H-pipe, and the ends of the H pipe to the midpipe?
The flanges with the gaskets that clamp together; I don't have any of the original bolts.

As I recall, the headers had threads on them... the others might just be drilled holes.

And-- if I stop by home depot, should I get stainless? They'll be weaker, but rust resistant?

Final question. Doing the mustang headers + Hpipe + impala tailpipe mod.
What sort of hangers should I get?
I'll probably figure it out when I get ready to hang it all up, but if I can buy the parts ahead of time it'll make life easy. I might not have a 2nd car to get out to the store on Wednesday, when I plan to do this...

    thanks!

You'd want high temp bolts if anything.
Swivel hangers. They're adjustable. They hang on the exhaust clamps. You're gonna need midpipes and tail pipe extensions, otherwise exhaust is gonna be under the car.

got a pic of the "swivel" hangers? I'm still trying to figure out my hanging plans myself.

yeah, I got midpipes and elbow extensions also There was a long thread a couple weeks ago where I had all of that cleared up for me...
johnunit: a google image search for "exhaust swivel hanger" pulls up something with a rubber/metal end and a strap with holes drilled along the length.

That's the right thing? The end threads onto the ends of the bolts sticking up from the clamps? Then... where did you end up securing the loose end? Just wrap around whatever member of the chassis seems convenient, then bolt it to itself?

I bolted it to the frame with original mounting bolts lol. If you're doing anything other than a stock exiting exhaust, just use self tapping bolts and stick them in the frame how you want the exhaust to sit.
