The car started fine but it has been sitting and I changed the steering column and water pump and now all of a sudden this? HELP!?

Does the starter spin, but the engine won't rotate? Sounds like missing teeth on the flywheel.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Instead of rotating it backwards turn it the right way as the motor would normally turn. Then see what happens.
If the motor is real hard to turn than it sounds like a bearing issue. Or depending on how long its been sitting, the motor might be trying to seize up.

Hmmm not sure on this one. But I will say welcome, and I'm not yelling at you but this is posted in the wrong place. The Box section is for 1991 and older and the Aero/whale section is for 1992 and newer. Posting your problem in the right section increase your odds of yielding better results. This is Just a friendly FYI.
