    finally! its running normal...sorta

    Well i bought an 88 town car and have been doing some tlc to it the last few weeks. The previous owner put dexcool in the coolant ugh... So i have been in the process of flushing it out. This process has comprised of changing hoses, taking out the thermostat and flushing it water about a hundred times. So finally all the sludge has cleared out and the car is running at a steady cool temp without the thermostat. So now i will flush it another hundred times and put the thermostat back in to complete the job.

    I just wanted to share my happiness that i can now run it steady without it overheating. A lesson for all, never mix dexcool with regular coolant it will be the worst experience of your life!

      keep an eye out for radiator and water pump leaks now that you flushed the sludge out.

              yeah deathcool is right, this is good that i have a guru near me, i might need to see him when it comes time to change my transmission.

                I think GM created dexcool to sell more cooling system service. Thanks, GM!
                Once that stuff turns into muddy water, you're lucky if it ever comes clean...

                  I had a 'no-getting-heat-inside-the-car' problem in my Impala. Figured it was a bad heater core.

                  Then I read about how much DexCool sucked. So I drained it all out and back-flushed the whole cooling system with pressurized air and fresh water. Made a mess. Replaced it with good old green stuff/water mix. No heat problem went away. GM lied about DexCool problem. It plugs shit up. 'Nuff said.
