my car starts and it has AC. Yours doesn't start and it has no AC. Seems obvious to me.

Received the ecm today, first thing when I got home was put it in the car, and well.....
IT LIVES. Right now Scott is a life saver! It's running so much better now, but I still have a rich running condition that I need to get to the bottom of. The check engine light is on so I'll pull some codes either tonight or tomorrow after work, I'm betting I'll be seeing the code for the Map/BP sensor being out of self-test range..
I'll keep you guys posted!1991 Mustang GT stock 5.0 HO. dual flows. daily driver

ok guys I just pulled the codes, they are:
KOEO = 22, 81, 87
KOER = 21, 41, 33
for code 33, I don't have vacuum at the line for the egr
for code 87, I currently have no Fuel Pump Relay.
for all the other codes, ??????Last edited by '91stangGT; 10-09-2010, 12:08 PM.1991 Mustang GT stock 5.0 HO. dual flows. daily driver

21--was the engine warmed up when you ran the test? You'll get this code otherwise. If it was warmed up, replace Engine coolant temp sensor.
81 & 22 both point to needing your MAP/Baro sensor replaced. Is this a mass air car?
41--have a look at your oxygen sensors. Are they miserable looking? Replace them. Also see if this code goes away with the engine warmed up and the exhaust warmed up.Originally posted by gadget73There is nothing more permanent than a temporary fix.

There's a few things that will act all goofy if you do a KOER test with the engine cold. Good luck!Originally posted by gadget73There is nothing more permanent than a temporary fix.

could be the sensor is whacked and showing lean, and the ecm is at full enrichment trying to compensate. Ran into that on a CFI car. It gave no codes, just burned a crapload of fuel and smelled gassy. New O2 sensor and it went back to fuel miser status. O2 sensors get less accurate after 60k miles or so, so it may be worth considering swapping them just as a preventative measure.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
