    besides it running shitty...
I should've elaborated, the firing order is dependent on the camshaft. The lopo cam has the firing order of 15426378, whereas the HO cam has the firing order of 13726548. Computers also play a role in this as our engines are fuel injected and the computer should be matched with the cam's firing order.
So no you can't just arrange the wires to that of a HO, not without at least changing the cam and computer. But it'll be underpowered without the proper heads and fuel injectors.

What he said. On the upside, a properly maintained HO will easily do a quarter million miles without any problems. I own one, and the engine is perfectly quiet with no oil pressure issues. I don't actually know what the pressure is, but the idiot light never comes on unless the engine isn't running.

My 248k mile lopo winter beater runs like a champ. Still gets 23mpg on the highway (with 3.55's) and runs low 16's. It's pretty noisy in the morning but it's never bothered me.

I used to run 15-40 Rotella T and a bottle of lucas, but switched to 5-30 semi synthetic Motorcraft and it's actually quieter now.

Not sure what the oil pressure is but it's over 6psi.

Same here, my 87 was over 250K and was still going strong.

That and it's ridiculously clean inside that motor...
