Your best bet would be to just use the
High Output from the mustang or Lincoln Mark VII
It moves the heavy Mark around with surprising ease.

ALL GT40 heads had 1/2" bolt holes and ALL GT40P heads were in a 302 application. Ford used no special bolts or washers for the 1/2" holes and 7/16" bolts in the 1996 & Early 1997 model year Explorer motors. There is simply no reason to loose sleep over getting a GT40 or GT40P head if you are not going to further modify the heads or run large amounts of boost or nitrous. When tuning your engine you need to be cognizant that GT40P heads are of a lean burn design and they are more prone to detonation. They tolerate less spark advance. FRPP headers fit both applications and are reasonabley priced. Unless you are going to use factory straws of some configuration to funnel the exhaust out of your heads, it is no big deal to get P specific headers.

 But if it's just as easy to use something more suited to his purposes ......

You may want to introduce yourself over in the general section before you jump into a tech thread. If you have been reading the forum, everyone is aware of the HO motor and tha fact that the heads are a little better than the E6 heads but can not hold a torch to the GT40 heads. An Explorer motor will give over 30HP more if the same cams are used but costs less and will have less miles typically than a Mustang of Lincoln 5.0.
Consider this a friendly heads up for posting guidelines.
