    few problems, Stalling..

I would like to try and correct these problems before/if they escalate.

    The problems..

I dont know if they are related but there are 2 problems and they trade off depending on the temperature.

When its cooler the marquis seems like it always wants to drive itself, I have to ride the brake down my ally because I will constantly accelerate if I dont. If im at a red light I have to press the brake hard to stay stopped. When I take my foot off it starts to go immediatly.

Now on a hot day, and after it heats up it stops driving itself, but it tends to stall alot when I stop. I will be at a red light and if im there long enough the engine will rev up and die down alot untill it just dies.

    Any ideas? :drug:

Vacuum leakage. I'll bet a dollar. Bad vac line to the MAP sensor also will make it do stupid stuff.

Idle Air Controle Valve (IAC)!!! It's a cylinder like thind on the back side of your throttle body, only two bolts and it comes off.
I had mine go bad and the car would idle very high...like 3000rpm. So when driving if this problem happened it would idle at about 55mph. Everything was exactly the same as you described. If it does it again take it out of gear and see what RPM is revs to. It will not overrev, so don't pannic when it goes up up up. First time it did it to me I freaked, had that "OMG IT"S GONNA BLOW" feeling. If the IAC gets stuck wide open it should only rev to around 3500, becaust the throttle is still at 0% so there should be no extra fuel added to accomidate the extra air flow.

People love to blame the O2 sensors...they are only there for emissions, so all they do is tweek the air/fuel ratio. If they go bad it just runs rich. So usually you only notice in the gas millage loss. It's very rare they fail in lean mode.

New O2 won't hurt you any. After a long time they become less accurate, so replacing them probably didn't do anything bad and once its running properly, it may have bought you a little fuel economy.
