The rule I use is not to put it in OD at anything less than 45 or 50. My car doesnt seem to complain much. My car also has the clunk on OD engagement and from what I can understand is normal. The AODs just have their own personality. Good transmissions if treated right.1991 Mercury Grand Marquis LS "betsy" 5.0 lopo w/AOD with around 160k. Aka The Land Yacht aka Betsy.
