    Another HO serpentine question

The engine i will be using for my swap (mustang engine) has all the accessories intact for the serpentine belt. I would like to remove the A/C compressor and air pump. Is anyone aware of this being done by getting a shorter belt? I know there are pulley assemblies to replace the air pump, but would like to save the expense. Would there be a belt available for non-ac systems if i have to buy the air pump replacement pulley?

Although I do not know what size. I know my moms cutlass has no air pump and we just got a smaller belt. It is just a matter of figuring out what size you need to run.

Yeah im pretty sure you can. Though you may need a diff alt bracket if im thinking correctly. I will look into it for you.

okay you can do it but you have to move the power steering pump to where the a/c is.
you can also get a diff alt bracket to eliminate the auto tensioner.

^ truth but I will be switching to a stang setup sooner or later just for the purpose of more options for better looking brackets and underdrive pullies.

Maybe try running a string or something in the new routing, then measuring it and getting the same-length belt.

Alternatively, I'm sure you're not the only guy with a mustang 5.0HO motor with AC and smog delete. A stang forum might yield a part number that someone else is already using in the same setup. Unless I'm misunderstanding and the accessory routing is going to be a weird hodgepodge of panther and fox body?

The 70.5 is what I was talking about moving the powersteering to the a/c location.
