Hey guys I was checking my oil today and I found a cut vacuum line on my Merc. It is green and connects to the throttle body goes into some sort of cruse control pump but its not. Its also connect on the side thats closes't the alternator. I would love to know if its very important I am going to change it ASAP but also what can that do if its disconnected I pretty sure it can answer some of the wired problems i've been having Thanks.

The green one should go from the EGR valve to the regulator. I don't know what year your car is, but the regulator is either on the upper intake manifold next to the EGR valve, or its over on the passenger side fender. If its unhooked, you get a vacuum leak. Its not the end of the world but you probably won't break anything by hooking the line back up, assuming someone didn't screw up in the past and connect it to the wrong spot on the other end. Its kind of hard to do, but nothing is impossible.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

tape wont hold vacuum......you need to fix it right.......you can patch the hard tubing together with windshield washer tubing

I've also used short lengths of vacuum tubing over the hard line as a fix (1/8" ID tubing)

yeah, thats how you patch the hard plastic line, just slide each end inside a small piece of rubber tubing and use it as a connector. Tape don't work.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
