    What Kind of Oil/Filter Are You Guys Using?

    Hey guys,


    What Brand, and weight of oil, and filter are you using in your engines?



    I usually run Quaker State 10W-30, And a Motorcraft Oil filter

    Until my last oil change it was fram filters and whatever oil I could afford. I bought Castrol GTX high mileage 10w30 and a wix filter - there's a difference. I don't know if the placebo effect comes in to play with something like this but I think theres a difference, at least

      In all the cars i've owned it's always been purolator PUREONE filters and valvoline full synthetic oil.

                Motorcraft FL1A and Walmart synth. If you're using Quaker State, be damn sure you are prompt with your oil changes. For some reason that oil sludges horribly, especially when its not changed regularly, something about the parrifin content.

                  I believe I am using Exxon 10W-40 and w/e filter I grab. I think there is a purolator on there now.

                    fl1a and supertech 10w30.. I'm a cheap fuck but the oil really isn't bad and i've been using it forever.

                      quaker state is bad.........the most goopy motors i've seen inside were run on quaker state.

                      i like motorcraft oil and filters, when i'm in broke dude mode i use autozone oil and stp filters

                      1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt

                        This is very interesting to know guys, Well I plan on changing the oil tomm. and I trust you guys a heck of a lot so its gonna be something other then Quaker state!


                        Is synthetic worth it in my 145,000 mi Lopo?

                          I use Mobil 1 Synthetic and Wix filters... I had a unfortunate scenario with a fram filter a few years ago on a Dodge I had..... the body of the filter split at the plate.... and well you know...... it killed the engine.

                            the motorcraft oil is a synthetic blend......not so hard on 25 yr old seals as full synthetic

                              Advance has a deal right now, 5 quarts of Valvoline synthetic and a K&N oil filter for 27 bucks. Great deal there folks.

                              I use Mobil 1 0W20 and a K&N oil filter on my 4.6.
