yeah, they're press fit. Honestly if I were you, I'd go looking for a good used HO shortblock and just swap the motor out. Doing a bottom end rebuild in the car is a huge pain in the ass, and is far more work than its worth. Its also very difficult to keep things sufficiently clean.

Why is your lifter retainer spider red? I hope thats painted with the sort of paint thats designed to live inside an engine, and not just engine enamel, otherwise the paint will flake off and end up in the oil.

I will agree.. doing repairs with the engine in the car is difficult.

also, you can not see the entire cylinder with the piston still installed. Ideally, the engine needs to come out of the car, for a proper inspection. IF you are going to install new bearings, the cam bearings also need to be replaced. at the very minimum, the cylinders need to honed for a good ring seal.

well i checked all rod bearings and they checked out to be good no gouges so im just going to do is get a new piston and do rings and rod bearings on all pistons and deglaze all cylinder walls with a three stone honing tool that attaches to my drill gun.

Do you still have the motor in the car??

There is a lot more to rebuilding a short block you really can't just shortcut it. In example measuring your bore and crank to make sure its still in spec. Otherwise this could all be a giant waste of money. Also you will need to use a ball hone as well of the oil won't lube the walls correctly.

I'd really do this out of the car for cleanliness reasons. One bit of that crud that lives under cars gets onto a crank journal and you have a massive gouge in the bearing surface. Also, you can drop the block off at the machine shop to be measured, cleaned, and have new cam bearings installed. I'd really want to be dead sure the cylinders were right in spec, the crank is where it ought to be, etc. You'll also want main bearings while you're in there.
