    Trunk release solenoid bad?

If I have to hit the trunk release button two or three times before it pops open, could that solenoid be wearing down? Is it even available anymore?

The trunk seal could be sticking...did you check for that already?

Can you hear the solenoid activating when you hit the button? It could also be the button going bad.

I have the same problem. I can always hear it click when I push the button, but the latch does not always release. I snagged another used on and am going to try that.

F0AZ-5443200-A is the part number for the latch assy. I can't say 100% by the description if that included the solenoid, but it probably does, as I haven't been able to find it seperate. Your friendly Ford parts person should be able to find out. 92 has a different part number so it probably is not available but it is worth a try.

PartsVoice showed a couple of those assemblies in stock at local dealerships. I might price one tomorrow and see if it is worth a shot.

When I hit the button, I hear it click, but it takes a couple times to pop it open--so I'm in the same boat as you. It's not a big deal, but I would prefer it to work like it did when it left the factory!

on a separate but similar issue...
I couldn't get my hood to latch closed to save my life. Adjusted the latch up and down, left and right, moved the stops up and down... had to slam the crap out of it.

                  Then I thought, WD-40...

Worked like a charm. I guess it just needed some lubin...

We all could use some lubin sometimes...
