    Get rid of the 3.08's. Get some 3.55's or 3.73's. Get a big trans cooler and have fun...also get the big rear swaybar and some poly bushings. It'll make it much more stable going down the road.

    And get some good brake pads!

      I found in my Brochure that the CP can tow 5000 with 3.55 gears and coolers. So I should be able to 2500 with 3.08 and coolers.
      gears are my specialty.....let me know if u want a price on 3.55's installed

      1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt

              I will consider that. I will see how I do with 3.08. If I have too much problem I will upgade.

                What about brake upgrades, what will fit that is better than stock?
                What is the best brake pad?
                I towed a small trailer yesterday and I noticed it took longer than I liked coming to a halt.

                  You could do the 98-up big brake swap (ask scott) and eliminate all stopping problems (I drove scott's car and it stops incredible)

                  You'd need to ditch those 14" wheels you cherish so much tho, for 16's

                      Yeah, you might just do better with a 3.55 in that car. Less strain on the engine to get it up to speed, and with the OD it still won't be screaming on the highway.

                            235/60 R16 =63.00 X 4 = 252.00 :chainsaw:

                              Well looks like the camper is a go. Hope the old girl is up to the task.
                              This isn't the exact one, same model though

                                i'm taking appointments for the big brake conversion.........pm or e-mail me and i;ll give you details.......also the 16" tires will last longer, and the car will handle much better........14" wheels wont work for rear discs, 11" rear drums or the 98-02 front brakes.........come down sometime and take my towny for a spin.......you will like
