    Thermostat???

after sitting for a couple days i opened my radiator cap and the system was still pressurized, coolant gushed out a little when i removed it....this has happened twice (both time i have checked it)

Someone suggested i may have a bad thermostat....

Is this true? How can i tell without a temp gauge??

definitely a noob question for me however i haven't had much engine experience XD

    Thanks guys!

its probably warmer now then when you shut the car off, so things expanded a bit. If it holds a bit of pressure for a few days, all that means is your cooling system is not leaky. if its not overheating, don't worry about it.

Without a gauge, all you have to go on is the replace engine light. If thats not on, the thermostat is probably not bad, or at least not horribly bad.
