Hello gang. I just got back in from the Charlotte Auto Fair. I have decided to keep the 351W in that 79 Ford Truck that I tried to get a title to. It just runs out to good. But anyways, I am wanting to take the 79 engine out of that truck to put in my car. My car does have the 351W in it as well. I had bought an Performer intake and Holley 600 or 650 Carb single pump. I am also wanting to freshen the ol truck motor up and install a bigger cam. Nothin majorly big, just want it to run and sound good. I was wondering on what kind of Headers would fit in my car? I thought maybe I'd have better luck with Shorty's. I wasn't sure. I figured I'd make a post before I go and buy something that wont fit.

well, the 351 cars got a different front pipe, which is wider and a little taller to ft up to the 351, so I'm thinking swap headers might not actually fit since they are made so that a stock 302 width/length pipe will mate to them. A standard set of shorties may be closer, but the flanges don't really mate up to the stock downpipe flanges properly. You might have better luck with 90 Towncar manifolds. They still suck, but they suck less than the iron logs.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Okay. Thanks for the information. Sorry I haven't been on here in a few days. I've been really busy.
I would really like to get headers for the car. Is there a different kind of flanges I can get from something else that will work? Maybe a truck or another car that has the Windsor in it?

i have a set of mid-length headers that fit a panther with a 351, but im pretty sure you will have to go with a console shift, and may have to modify your a/c box or the passenger headerhttp://secondhandracing.com/Home.aspx

Hmmm. I would like to go with a console shift anyways but not too sure yet. I was kinda hopeing to find a set that would fit good. Kinda like a Key with the lock that fits great. But I guess that's going to be bout impossible without some sort of modification

I have BBK 15110 (coated 1511s) swap headers, and they are great quality.
I have custom front pipes to mate to them, though.**2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302: 5.0/ 6 spd/ 3.73s, 20K Cruiser
