      Back to this wonderful vehicle.

Swapped the map with my 91's. No change at all.

Also, this is the most noobish question ever, but where is the self test plug on these things? I thought it was on the drivers side fender, but I can't find it anywhere.

x2 on the map sensor line, Ive seen alot of them collapsed or dry rotted

maybe I missed it, but have you measured vacuum or done a compression test?

It pulls a steady 17 inHg at idle. Compression test is next.

I completley replaced the line to the map, along with the fuel pressure regulator, and a few more.

17 seems low to me, but I'd want a guru to confirm. Check for leaks?

I would check the fuel pressure. Sounds to me like high fuel pressure. When some O2 is injected to the overly rich mixture, it evens out some. Fuel pressure regulator is cheap if no gauges.

17 is on the low side of normal, but it may not indicate any real issues. My 233k mile motor pulls 17.

Is the smog pump plumbing nonsense hooked up properly? If its constantly pumping air into the back of the heads, it will cause a false lean reading on the O2 sensors, which results in a really rich fuel mixture.

Ok so the only code I have is 85, which is Canister Purge Solenoid circuit failure.

that shouldn't do anything, unless the canister is missing and the vacuum line is wide open, or the can is there but seized in the open position. I think that lives on the passenger side on a Mark VII, somewhere between the motor and the fender. It might be on the opposite side though, i really don't remember.
