    Throttle Cable Bracket???

Does anybody here remember how to get the TV cable off of the throttle cable bracket? I don't remember if it pops off like the throttle cable or if it comes off any other way? I have everything disconnected from the upper plenum except that.

On your '86, grab your throttle linkage. And hold it in place. With your other hand, pull the tv cable forward, that will get it off the linkage.

yep, slide the white plastic thingamajig forward. if you pry downward on it, you will need to buy yourself a new cable. BTDT.

That little platic thingy ain't moving. I see where it slides out from, but it won't move forward out of the groove. DO I need to to pry it with something? I don't remember it being too difficult to remove last time.

          are you changing the cable?
why are you trying to get the cable out of the bracket?
the bracket bolts to the back of the egr spacer, unbolt it and move the throttle and tv cable out of the way

No, I'm not changing the cable. It's connected to the throttle lever. The bracket is disconnected from the back of the EGR spacer. This friggin cable won't dislodge itself from the lever. I'm just trying to get the upper intake off of the engine so I can get at the fuel pressure regulator.

It's an '86 CV. I got the throttle cable off, but the white plastic bushing is giving me hell at the moment. It won't move forward out of the groove.

                  oh 86
                  disregard last instructions!!!

the cable end snaps on the throttle body......same end as a general motors kickdown cable

do not pull or pry downwards, simply pull the clip on the end of the cable horizonally and it will unclip from the throttle body

Okay, I got it off. I guess I just needed time away. Though I got another question.......When I took the throttle body off of the intake, coolant ran out of the intake opening and it's fairly wet inside. It's definitely not coming from the two lines. And it's definitely coolant as it's light green in color. How could coolant end up in the upper intake?

Well coolant runs through the EGR spacer. Must have rattled something loose (gasket) while removing the throttle body. Or the gasket has been leaking all along.

Would that mess with the engine performance and idle characteristics?

Also, I saw your PM 87gtVIC, I'm just a little preoccupied. Thanx for replying mang.

I have no idea..But coolant is not meant to be suck in by the engine.

well, if you just took the throttle body off, that may have been where the coolant came from. The water side of the spacer is against the throttle body. Yes, it will screw with how the engine runs, and you'd also be seeing a loss of coolant.
