OK... I got the U-joints replaced in my car... only problem is... I think one of the "C" clips fell out.. (can't really work on it until Monday)
My question is... is the "C" clips on the 5.0 LTD's on the outside of the u-joint, or inside the u-joint? Or maybe one half is an inside clip and one half outside clip? Here is two pictures of the rear u-joint area.. it looks like one of the caps is sticking out of the u-joint on the first picture.... (red circle)
And on this picture, you can see the clip is inside the outside portion of the yoke...

The reason I started to wonder is there is still alot of slack in the drive line, that you can feel when the car shifts... and when I looked at the pictures and saw this, it made me wonder if I had lost a "C" clip. I am not going to drive it until I get under the car and look at it... but was just wondering if anyone had changed theres... And could remember how the set up was on theirs... (Is the V-6 And V-8 the same?) IF the u-joints aren't the problem, I am afraid the rear end will need over hauled, or at least some bearings...
