    Later Box 140mph Cluster

How much is a fair price for a later style box 140mph cluster? I stumbled upon a 1990-91 P72 in the junkyard today when I was looking for an alternator. I asked and they said $50.

I usually paid 20-30 bucks for the old style, but 50 is not horrible.

i believe 92-94 whale speedos will fit. 95 iirc is when they redesigned the dash

also... if you dont have a 90 or 91, nothing will work. the older crown vic vs grand marquis clusters are not a direct swap.... not impossible but ive heard it comes out lookin like crap.

I posted that 87 was the cut off year, and then remembered that I was wrong, so I deleted it. Were you like camping on this thread?? haha

thats because you have to convert the whole dash for the most part from ford to gm, or gm to ford.

and the 90-+ clusters won't work in older boxes because they're physically larger and its all electronic.

                            I did the swap myself.

I have most of a CV dash in mine.

                            I dont like it.

50 bucks is a lot... but thats just how some yards are. I usually got speedos for around 25 bucks... but one place wanted 75!!!

the vic speedo changed to 'new style' in 92.
the 90-91 vic speedo is the same shape and design as the 90-91 and 92-93? grand marquis. Some onehere has put a 93 GM speedo in his 90-91 vic.... i forget who.
