The guy that installed my new oil pan/pump swore he'll never agree to do an oil pan on one of these cars again Only took like two days to get my car back to me, I think he had to lift the engine a few inches but not all of the way out.sigpic

My '90 P72 has the original stacked plate oil cooler, and the heavy duty lines. They do not leak. However, to replicate such a system with the proper hoses, adapter, etc, would be quite spendy. What exactly does the oil cooler have to do with the oil pan? You don't remove the pan to install an oil cooler. You remove the oil filter, and the thingy that threads into the block that the filter normally spins onto. It requires a socket, not oil pan removal.
Unrelated, but I just came across a NOS oil cooler adapter plate for 30 bucks on ebay. No mounting hardware or any of that though. That funky bolt that goes through the middle of it is probably unobtanium, and its totally useless without it.

Just a FYI, if you decide to do the oil cooler, the lines for it are nothing more than -10AN lines. You can make them with a section of braided -10 hose and the appropriate ends. Both my stock oil cooler and the lines were going to hell, so I bought a small B&M cooler and made new lines for it.sigpic
