anything can be made to work. Worst case, you'll have to add a small amount of pipe at one end or the other to make up for a shorter muffler.

91grandmarquis: ah, you were using the stock type muffler hangers that have the little bracket thing welded to the muffler. Mine fell apart, so its using generic swinger hangers that hook under a clamp.

What Gadget73 and Lincolnmania said. They've installed a lot more Crown Vic exhausts than probably most people. The pipes don't care what brand name is printed on the part number sticker any more than the fuel and air entering your engine care what name is stamped on the valvecovers. You can easily use regular muffler U-bolts to clamp on anything you like so long as the slip fits are the same ID as the OD of the pipe you're using on that side of the muffler.

Example: my current exhaust, using Maremont 339221 or equivalent intermediate pipes (2.5" OD) behind 2.5" Mustang-style crossover pipe by Pacesetter, along with 2.25" tailpipes the car's previous owner had custom-bent years ago. Mufflers are a pair of unknown-brand "economy mufflers" I bought at AutoZone a few years back for $20 each, 19" oval case, inlet and outlet 2.5" ID / 2.25" OD. Sound: a bit burbley, not as smooth as I'd like, but keeps resonance under control and not at all bad for something I pieced together out of parts I had sitting around anyway.

Thanks for the info but i will have to hold on that right now as i have bigger issue that happened today. I went to go pull my car into the shop today and my engine Seized. I found out that there was a big puddle of oil underneath the oil pan. I inspected the pan and found a rust hole on the side. so all my oil was gone. Now the engine is worthless because it's seized. The good news is i still have the 302 that was originally from the car to put in as it runs fine and is in better condition. Still have the acceleration hesitation but i think my CFI system is bad. I going to see if i can find one in the junkyard.

A welded exhaust is nice, but...

If you're like me, and change the muffler frequently (I'm on the third muffler in a year) its incovenient to weld the pipes to the muffler.
