      yes that was what I did, didn't blow any fuses but everything electrical did shut off for a lil while and I had to jump the car, battery was suddenly drained.

        sounds like an unrelated loose or dirty battery connection.

          I did notice there was small cable that was loose on the negative side of the battery. worked fine after, but I still left the plug empty, just taped up.

            That loose cable was the ground for the ECM. That not properly grounded would cause problems.

              that not being grounded can smoke the ECM. Hook it back up.
