I joined corrral.net to search for some gt40 heads, many offers were made from 200 dollars for an set to 460 for a set that has been completely re furbished with no miles on them. However I was offered a set for 325 plus shipping ($75 dollars) that was rebuilt 6k miles ago and has springs good for .600 lift. Any idea on if im getting the shaft, It seems like a good deal. He is emailing me pics so ill post them when I get them. thanks.

I'm no expert, but I'd ask him to define "rebuilt",including the brands of parts used.
85 4 door 351 Civi Crown Victoria - Summer daily driver, sleeper in the making, and wildly inappropriate autocross machine
160KMs 600cfm holley, shorty headers, 2.5" catted exhaust, 255/295 tires, cop shocks, cop swaybars, underdrive pulley, 2.73L gears.
waiting for install: 3.27's, Poly bushings, boxed rear arms, 2500 stall converter, ported e7's, etc
06 Mazda 3 hatch 2.3L 5AT (winter beater that cost more than my summer car)

Last set of heads I bought that were "rebuilt" and "ready to run" had a bunch of bent valves. Not to say that'll happen to you but there is always that chance. I'd want to know why they are being sold, that might tell you if theres something horribly wrong.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Ok I think ill take my chances on them, They look good (although that has no bearing at all on how they function). Ill get some pics up soon from my email but right now im at like 10% battery and the walk to the chord upstairs is just not worth it."Shakedown"- 1991 Grand Marquis GS Dual exhaust, Magnaflow xl turbos, Rear anti sway bar, Outlaw 1 wheels, 43k miles

i picked up a set of gt40 heads last year, between buying them and having them rebuilt, i have 500 dollars into them and that does not include the fuel it cost me to pick them up and drop them off at the machine shop........i wanted to use them on my mark7 but was able to sell them to a customer for 500......and yes i tried talking the customer into aftermarket heads, he just didnt want to spend the extra 500 bucks on a pr of new iron aftermarket heads, hopefully this roller 351 block with gt40 heads vic project runs decent.....but anything is better than a knocking 1989 vic 351

Yeah They were rebuilt with all stock parts except for comp cam springs, They have 6000 miles on them and are off a ford racing motor. The reason they are being sold is because he is relocating his shop to nebraska and the owner of the car lost his job and is parting it out. They should be good to bolt on so ill be out of this for less than 400 dollars after shipping. Thanks for all the advice, Just dont have the $$ to go aftermarket right now."Shakedown"- 1991 Grand Marquis GS Dual exhaust, Magnaflow xl turbos, Rear anti sway bar, Outlaw 1 wheels, 43k miles
