About two years ago i replaced intake manifold gaskets (fel-pro) and seals due to water in my oil. It stopped the problem until the begninning of this month when i noticed white sludge and condensate on my dip stick also in the air cleaner housing where the valve cover vent enters. My coolant reservoir had also lost a small amout of level (had marked it after replacing heater core in august). havent driven the car in a week. The oil level is not elevated, but has some white streaks in it. The car is running great, does not overheat, and doesnt smoke. I never retorqued the intake after installing it, but will do this and change the oil to see if it stops. I plan on a carb swap, but really dont want to remove the heads if i dont need to. Anyone aware of the life on head gaskets for this motor? The engine is original with 87000 miles.

Thanks for the info! Its probably the intake again, the signs just dont point to head gaskets. I checked the torque on the manifold and they were fine. Not going to worry too much about it, but will keep a close eye on it if it gets worse. Will drive it till spring and do my swap to carb.

How the temperature and humidity where you are at? If the temperature is dancing around the freezing point, humidity and not driving the car long enough to get all the water "boiled" out of the crankcase you end up with the milkshake dipstick.

Crack the oil drain plugs after its been sitting for a while... if you are getting any coolant in the oil it will be the first thing to dribble out of the drain plug.Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements
