    Return of the 302!!!!!!!!!!!!

    It's official!!!!!!!!!!!

    http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2009/12...ustang-gt.html

Ford's all-new 5.0-liter (302 cubic-inch) V-8 is finally official. Yay! For now, it's only confirmed for the 2011 Mustang GT but all signs still firmly point to the 5.0 replacing the 4.6-liter V-8 and 5.4-liter V-8 engines in the F-150 by 2011.

Maybe not the 302 you were expecting.....but still a Ford 302.....so right forum yes?

It sure looks badass. I wonder how easily removable that engine cover is.

Still a modularOHC engine no? If so, its much more related to the 4.6 than a Windsor engine.

In the pics it doesnt appear to be OHC, as there would be timing covers on the ends of the heads.

It is DOHC, and it's not necessarily a 302 C.I. motor just cause it's 5.0l....but i don't know what the bore x stroke on it is yet to verify what c.i. it is..

If you look at the leading edges you can see where the cam sensors are.

Add the fact that it says 32V right on it....Not that many pushrod motors with 4 valves per piston out there.....

Nevermind that ford already announced that it's a DOHC.

True, although this is supposed to be an all new engine, completely separate from the 4.6/5.4/6.8 modulars.

I just hope this (and the 6.2L) are a hit for ford.

Oh, (I'm sure they won't) but wouldn't it be cool if those exhaust manifolds would fit our cars?
