OK, so I tried to search this, but don't know if I wasn't using the right words or what, because I wasn't finding anything.
So teh last three or four times I go to drive the '90, when I put 'er in reverse to back out of my parking spot (after she sits all night, or more than a couple days) everything is cool.
when I put her in drive, more often than not, it takes 5, sometimes up to 10 FULL seconds before she'll go into gear, at first I thought I had accidentally put it in neutral by mistake. It just sat and revved. Once, it went in, and when I stopped at the mailbox and put it in park, and went to take off again, it wouldn't go in gear for the ten seconds, THEN when it shifted from first to second (which seemed to take FOREVER) it SLAMMED into second!
I haven't driven it anymore.....been driving the Ranger.
I have to add that once I do drive it and it's warm everything is good, it works as it should, and it can sit for 8-10 hours at work and it's all good.
fluid level is good, and fluid color is good, although maybe just a tad bit orange, no funny smell to it or anything. When I checked it, it was hot, I had just driven it 50 miles, wiped it off with my fingers, and the fluid was just luke warm.
Any ideas? Am I due for a rebuild?
