    99' Moutineer 302 a easy swap to a vic?

    Yo fellas,

A mechanic fella I was talking to says he knows a yard that pulled a 99' 302 off a moutineer. He says it'll be a kick ass swap. But i'm not sure

Can I get a few inputs on this maybe engine swap.
400 bucks for the engine(used) an 400 bucks for the labor.

    Thanks fellas.

He's right. Do a search for Explorer motor swaps, and check out the sticky at the top. Mountaineer engines are identical to Explorer ones, and you'll most likely find all the info you need to know about the swap already covered. The trouble you may have out there is dealing with Califoronia emissions BS laws. If you have to carry over all of the 99 wiring, engine controls, intake setup, and accessories it becomes a *huge* amount of extra work. If you can convert it to use the stock accessories and a close to stock computer, it becomes a lot easier. I can also promise you that if you do have to retain the 99 engine accessories, $400 in labor won't cover it. I've seen first hand the amount of work involved in making a box work with Explorer accessories, and it ain't pretty.
